KRYPTERIA is a German-Korean four piece, fronted by lead singer Ji-In Cho.

Ji-In, who studied vocals and piano at the renowned Musikhochschule/Cologne, and her trio of band mates form one of Europe's hottest live acts.

KRYPTERIA have a knack for dramatic punch-you-in-the-face songs with sizzling melodies all spiced up with mysterious atmospheres and classical elements such as their trademark Gregorian chants.

But who are KRYPTERIA ?

After teaming up at the end of 2004 the band got off to a remarkable start by scoring a Top3 position on the German charts accompanied by a gold record for Tsunami charity song "Liberatio".

The cosmopolitan foursome then went on to leave amazed audiences in its wake ever since: Not only because they deliver high class power hymns that effortlessly crossover to the melodic genre, but also because they stage a remarkably energetic and entertaining live performance that will rock your socks off.

Bewitching Ji-In, guitarist/producer Chris Siemons, and the thunderous grooves of human dynamo Frank Stumvoll on bass and showboating drummer deluxe S.C. Kuschnerus provide an epic feast for the ears, a killer show, plus infectious enthusiasm to boot all rolled into one.

Backed by a spectacular and celebrated promotional trip to South Korea back in February 2006 KRYPTERIA have been in hot demand in the Land of the Morning Calm ever since, as documented by No.1 positions in the Hot tracks international rock album charts, the video charts as well as the airplay charts.

During the second half of 2006 the band had been writing and recording their 2007 release "Bloodangel's Cry" with a vengeance, interrupted only by their Vietnamese concert debut, a set of tour dates with the legendary Deep Purple and their successful Wacken Open Air debut during the summer before enjoying a sold-out German tour alongside Subway to Sally and another blockbuster performance in front of 15.000 enthused Asian fans in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ready, willing, hungry and dangerous the eclectic foursome hit stages all over the world full-throttle again to further introduce themselves and to present the explosive array of hot tracks off "Bloodangel's Cry". And they did exactly that at some of Europe's most prestigious open airs, in Latin America as well as in front of 30.000 metal heads at one of Europe's biggest hard & heavy festival, the legendary Wacken Open Air 2008.

The band continued to do so with new songs fresh off their highly anticipated album MY FATAL KISS, which was released August 28th, 2009.

This record features new material that elevates KRYPTERIA's sonic intensity and lyrical identity to a whole new level and was instrumental in securing slots at top-notch festivals such as the Metal Female Voices Fest/BEL, Graspop/BEL, Germany's Rock Harz as well as encore performances at the M'era Luna and the Summer Breeze.

Riding on a creative high KRYPTERIA will spend the summer of 2010 in the studio, recording their most spectacular album to date, which will be released in spring 2011.

Once the album is finished they'll return to the stage and bring the hammer down again live all over the world beginning as early as October.
That's when Ji-In will continue to paint sensually on the canvas of emotion, while the guys will work their rears off to rock the living daylight out of the audience.

Gerade einmal fünf Jahre ist es her, dass das Debüt der deutsch-koreanischen Formation KRYPTERIA auf den Markt kam - fünf Jahre, in denen die Mannen um Frontfrau Ji-In Cho einiges erlebt haben:
Gold für die erste Single zugunsten der Tsunami-Opfer 2005, Touren als Support für Deep Purple und Subway To Sally, die WM-Fan-Hymne für die koreanische Fußballnationalmannschaft, TV- und Live-Shows in Europa, Amerika und Asien.

Ihr triumphales Debüt auf dem Wacken-Open-Air 2006 beflügelte die Band bei der Arbeit an ihrem letzten, hochgelobten Werk ,,Bloodangel´s Cry". Dieses kultivierte nicht nur die markante Melange aus kraftvollem Rock, verschiedenen Metal-Spielarten, gotischem Flair, klassischen Elementen und gregorianischen Chorälen, sondern wartete darüber hinaus auch noch mit Überraschungen en masse auf.

Hinter KRYPTERIA verbergen sich die drei langjährigen Weggefährten Chris Siemons (Gitarre), Frank Stumvoll (Bass) und S.C. Kuschnerus (Schlagzeug), die schon vor über einer Dekade zusammen in einer Band gespielt haben und anschließend als Produzent, Studiomusiker und Musical-Bösewicht Erfolge feiern konnten.
Komplettiert wird der Vierer von Sängerin Ji-In, einer bezaubernden Schönheit koreanischer Abstammung, die in Köln Klavier und Gesang studiert hat. Die temperamentvolle Frontfrau verkörpert mit ihrer variablen Stimme die verschiedensten Charaktere vom unschuldigen Engel über die mächtige Walküre bis zum lasziven Vamp und glänzt zudem mit gefühlvollem Pianospiel.

Da nicht nur Ji-In, sondern auch die anderen drei Musiker erstklassige Sänger sind, haben sich die kunstvollen Chöre zum besonderen Markenzeichen des KRYPTERIA-Sounds entwickelt. Sie klingen durch ihren gregorianischen Einfluss höchst originell und setzen immer wieder markante Akzente.
Nicht nur bei der Instrumentierung und den Arrangements der enorm vielschichtigen Songs, sondern auch bei den sorgsam ausgearbeiteten Lyrics besticht die große Liebe zum Detail, mit der KRYPTERIA zu Werke gehen.

Ein Höhepunkt war dabei sicherlich die Rückkehr zum Wacken- Open-Air 2008, bei dem die Band 30.000 enthusiasmierte Metalheads begeisterte.

Derart beflügelt machten sich KRYPTERIA an die Arbeiten zum brandneuen Album MY FATAL KISS, das mit noch mehr Überraschungen, Wucht und Emotionen aufwartet.
Dieses heiß ersehnte und mit Blut, Schweiß, Tränen und Leidenschaft erschaffene Werk hat am 28. August 2009 endlich das Licht der Welt erblickt und die nächste Evolutionsstufe des Vierers gezündet.

Seitdem war die Formation um Sängerin Ji-In europaweit on the road und begeisterte hunderttausende Fans bei Festivalhighlights wie dem belgischen Graspop, dem M'era Luna oder dem SummerBreeze, ehe es demnächst wieder in den Flieger geht, um alte und neue Freunde in West und Ost zu begeistern.

Parallel surfen KRYPTERIA gerade auf einer neuen kreativen Welle und arbeiten an den Songs für das kommende Album, welches im Frühjahr 2011 erscheinen und das bis dato spektakulärste Kapitel in der sechsjährigen Bandgeschichte einläuten wird.
